Here I have assembled a collection of songs by female country artists. The track list is perhaps a bit predictable, but it's meant primarily as an introduction to country music for those not very familiar with the genre. I have a soft spot for female vocals in general, and that is no less true when country music is concerned.
The songs here range from the well-known to the relatively obscure, and are primarily from my personal CD collection, although a decent number come from the now defunct blog "TJ's House of Country Music."
The styles range from "lounge country" to "country pop" to "pure country." Some of the earlier songs lack the "twang" or "country-ness" of the songs from the mid-60s and on, but they are still highly enjoyable (and were quite influential in their time).
