Saturday Night Fever (1977): Expanded Edition (NEW LINKS 5-15-14)

I present the "Expanded Edition" of the best-selling soundtrack to the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever. Originally posted on May 28, 2012 in tribute to Robin Gibb (who had passed away on the 20th of May), this was my first music upload and remains one of my most popular posts. However, mediafire took the link down a few months ago, so I am taking this opportunity to re-upload the album in higher quality and with even more extras.
---
NOTES ON THE ORIGINAL (2012) UPLOAD:
* "Stayin' Alive," "If I Can't Have You," "Open Sesame," and "You Should Be Dancing" are featured here in extended versions (in all cases contemporary versions and not later remixes).
* "Doctor Disco" and "Disco Duck" were both featured in the film, but not in the original soundtrack release. I have included both here (the latter in its 12" Version).
---
NOTES ON THE NEW (2014) UPLOAD:
* "Jive Talkin'" was included in the original soundtrack album, but not in the film. For contractual reasons, later LP pressings featured a live version of the song. I have included both versions here.
* I have assembled a bonus disc of related songs, including songs written/recorded for the film and B-Sides of songs from the film.
Enjoy!

Thank God It's Friday (1978): Expanded Edition (NEW LINKS)

(Originally posted 29 May 2012, Updated 30 November 2012, Updated 15 October 2016)
---
As a follow-up to the Saturday Night Fever Expanded Soundtrack (posted here), and also as an homage to the late Donna Summer...
---
I have assembled here an "Expanded Edition" of the "Thank God It's Friday" Soundtrack from 1978. At almost 3 hours of music, it makes for quite an awesome (if at times tedious) listening experience. Unlike my two previous mp3 posts, the majority of the songs here come from the internet (I'd like to give credit where it's due, but I no longer remember which songs are from where), while only a few come from CDs I own. The bitrate on some songs is as low as 128kbps, although I think the majority are VBR in the 250s range. Nevertheless, I think it's a nice offering, and to the best of my knowledge no other blogger has posted a similar "expanded" version of this classic album.

Without further ado, here is the song selection...

The file is split into two parts:
The two parts can be downloaded and unzipped separately, and are independent of each other. Discs 1 & 3 have been removed by mediafire twice, so the re-uploaded version has track titles removed from the file names. Sorry about that, but hopefully that will make it less likely to be taken down a third time.

Enjoy!

And, if you like, it please leave a comment... It'll brighten up my day. :)

Flashdance (1983): Expanded Edition

Tomorrow morning, I leave France to return to California for the summer. I likely won't be able to post anything for the next week or so, so I figured I should do one last post before I leave...
---
---
Here is an expanded version of the Flashdance soundtrack. There isn't much I can think to say about it, other than the fact that it features a number of wonderful songs, including the title track ("Flashdance" by Irene Cara), "Maniac" (by Michael Sembello), "Gloria" (by Laura Branigan), "I Love Rock N' Roll" (by Joan Jett)  and "Romeo" (by the late Donna Summer). The songs that are in their original format are from my CD version of the soundtrack, and "Gloria" and the title track are also from my own CDs. "I Love Rock N' Roll" and the extended version of "Maniac" are from the internet.

P.S. Feel free to leave a comment if you liked this post, or if you have any problems with the download.
P.P.S. There is a typo in the "Read-Me" file... The song "Maniac" is 5 mins 47 seconds, not the 4 min 18 second version.
